Product Code: PPA 163 ,Equivalent to Atmer 163
- General Information
Anti Static Agent 163 (equivalent to Atmer 163) is a high – performance additive designed to address the issue of static electricity in a wide range of industrial applications, especially those related to plastics and rubbers. It is formulated to provide efficient and long – lasting static – dissipation properties, ensuring the smooth operation of production processes and the quality of final products.
- Chemical Properties
Chemical Name: Alkylamine polyoxyethylene ether
Molecular Formula: RN(C₂H₄OH)₂
Appearance: Colorless to light yellow transparent liquid
Solubility: Insoluble in water, forming a suspended liquid with water. Soluble in methanol, isopropanol, toluene, and other organic solvents
- Physical Performance
Corrosiveness: Mildly corrosive, so proper handling precautions should be taken during use and storage.
Complexation Ability: It can engage in complexation reaction with certain metal ions, which may be beneficial in some specific industrial processes where metal – containing materials are involved.
- Product Features
High – Efficiency Anti static Performance: Significantly reduces the surface resistance of materials, making it effective in preventing the accumulation of static charges. It can quickly dissipate static electricity, ensuring the safety of products and production lines. For example, in the production of plastic films for electronic packaging, Anti Static Agent 163(Atmer 163) can prevent electrostatic discharge from damaging sensitive electronic components.
Wide Compatibility: Compatible with a variety of polymers, including all polyolefins (LDPE/LLDPE/HDPE/PP), EVA, ionomers, PVC, PET/polyester, PC, nylon, styrenics, ABS, rubber, and TPE. This allows it to be used in a diverse range of products, from automotive parts made of engineering plastics to rubber – based industrial products.
Good Heat Stability: Maintains its anti – static properties even under high – temperature processing conditions. This is crucial in processes such as injection molding and extrusion, where materials are exposed to elevated temperatures.
Excellent Transparency and Color Stability: Does not affect the transparency and color of the final product, making it ideal for applications where visual appearance is important, such as in the production of clear plastic containers or transparent films.
- Applications
Plastic Industry
Polyolefin Products: In the production of polyethylene and polypropylene films, sheets, and injection – molded products, Anti Static Agent 163 (Atmer 163) is added to prevent dust adhesion and improve the processability. For instance, in the manufacturing of polypropylene food – packaging films, it ensures that the films do not attract dust during storage and transportation.
Styrenic Polymers: In ABS and PS plastics, it helps to reduce static build – up, which is beneficial for the surface finish and performance of products such as electronic housings and consumer goods.
Rubber Industry
Rubber Products: Used in the production of natural and synthetic rubber products, such as tires, conveyor belts, and rubber gaskets. It can prevent the rubber from attracting dust and other contaminants, improving the durability and performance of the rubber products. For example, in tire production, it helps to keep the tire surface clean and free from electrostatic – induced dirt adhesion, which can affect traction and appearance.
- Usage and Dosage
Usage: Anti Static Agent 163(Atmer 163) can be added directly during the polymer compounding process. It should be well – mixed with the polymer matrix to ensure uniform distribution.
Dosage: The recommended dosage varies depending on the specific application and the type of polymer. Generally, for polyolefin sheets, the dosage is 0.5 – 1.0%; for polyolefin films, it is 0.2 – 0.5%; for PS, 2.0 – 4.0%; for ABS, 1.5 – 3.0%; and for PVC, 1.0 – 2.5%. However, it is advisable to conduct preliminary tests to determine the optimal dosage for each specific application.
- Safety Information
Non – Toxic and Tasteless: Can be used in packaging materials that come into contact with food, ensuring food safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
Handling Precautions: Although it is non – dangerous, avoid direct contact with the skin and eyes during operation. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Storage and Packaging
Packaging: Packed in standard 180 – kg iron drums or 50 – kg plastic drums, which are suitable for easy transportation and storage.
Storage: Store in a dry area below 25 °C, and avoid direct sunlight, rain, and inversion. Over 60 °C or an extended storage period may cause discoloration. It can be stored for at least one year under proper storage conditions.
