Refractive Index (nD²⁰): The refractive index is 1.4360~1.4380, which can be useful in quality – checking and in understanding its optical behavior when used in certain applications.
4. Chemical Reactivity
Stability: It is stable under normal storage conditions but is sensitive to moisture, acids, and bases.
Incompatibility: Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents as it may lead to strong reactions, which could pose risks during handling and storage.
5. Application in Polypropylene Production
Donor C is an essential component in Ziegler – Natta catalyst systems for polypropylene production. As an external electron donor or regulator, it plays a critical role in enhancing and regulating the stereospecificity (isotacticity) of the catalyst.
As an isotacticity regulator: In the process of polypropylene production, DONOR C can precisely control the tacticity of the polymer chain, helping to improve the isotacticity of polypropylene. It enables the methyl groups on the polypropylene molecular chain to be arranged regularly, thereby enhancing the crystallinity, mechanical strength, stiffness and other properties of the polypropylene product.
Improving resin performance and processability: It can optimize the polymerization process, make the molecular weight distribution of the polymer more uniform, and improve the fluidity and processability of polypropylene in the processing process. This allows polypropylene to be more easily processed into various products, such as injection – molded parts, extruded pipes, and blown films.
Reducing production costs: By improving the efficiency of the polymerization reaction and the quality of the product, DONOR C helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and energy in the production process, and reduce production costs. At the same time, the improvement of product quality also reduces the rate of defective products, which is beneficial to the economic benefits of enterprises.
6. Handling and Safety
Personal Protective Equipment: When handling Donor C, operators should wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including chemical – resistant gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing.
Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in the handling area.
7. Packaging and Storage
Packaging: Usually packed in 200 – liter iron drums with an inner protective layer. Each drum contains 180 kg of Donor C. Additionally, the drums are filled with nitrogen to create an inert atmosphere, which helps maintain the chemical stability of Donor C during storage and transportation.
Storage Conditions: Should be stored in a dry, cool place, with a recommended storage temperature below 25°C. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided. Under proper storage conditions, it has a shelf – life of at least one year.
